Busymate AI

Desktop app

Busymate AI Console, on your desktop

A small companion for the people who answer. It notifies you the moment a conversation needs a human, and opens straight to it.

The Busymate AI Console running in the desktop app: the conversation inbox beside an open hand-off.

What's new

Version 0.1.2 · released Sep 7, 2026

  • Monochrome app icon that lines up with Finder and Safari in the Dock.
  • The menu-bar icon is a proper template image, so it tints with your menu bar instead of staying white.
  • The window title strip is draggable and the traffic lights no longer sit over the logo.
  • The sidebar stays put while the content scrolls.
  • Console only: no marketing menu inside the app.

Full release notes

What you get

Four things a browser tab cannot do. Everything else is the Console you already know.

System notifications for hand-offs

When a conversation is handed to a human, your computer tells you — even with the window closed. Clicking the notification opens that exact conversation.

A badge for what is waiting

The same unread count the Console bell shows, on the dock and in the menu bar. Pause it from the tray when you are heads-down.

Links that open the right thread

A busymate-ai:// link from anywhere on your machine opens the conversation it names, in the window you already have open — no reload, no lost draft.

It updates itself

The app is a window onto the Console you already use, so every improvement reaches it the day it ships. The shell checks for its own updates and installs them in the background.

Installing it

A minute, once. After that the app keeps itself up to date.

macOS

  • Open the .dmg and drag Busymate AI Console into Applications.
  • This preview is not notarized yet, so the first launch needs Control-click → Open (double-clicking shows a refusal instead). macOS remembers your choice.
  • Requires macOS 10.15.

Windows

  • Run the installer. The .exe installs for you only; the .msi is the one to hand your IT team.
  • This preview is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”. Choose More info → Run anyway, after checking the SHA-256 below matches.
  • Requires Windows 10 1809.

Linux

  • Make the .AppImage executable (chmod +x) and run it — no installation, no root.
  • Or install the .deb with your package manager on Debian, Ubuntu and their derivatives.
  • Requires glibc 2.31 (Ubuntu 20.04).

Prefer the browser?

The Console is the same in every browser — the desktop app only adds the notifications.
